A Shopify store audit is for UAE merchants whose store gets visits but not enough orders, whose ad numbers don't match the bank, or who are about to spend more on traffic and want the leaks fixed first. We review conversion, speed, SEO, tracking, payments, Arabic and apps, then tell you what to fix, in what order and why. One senior person does the review: the same founder who builds the stores.
When a Shopify website audit pays for itself
- Your Shopify store isn't converting and nobody can say whether it's the traffic, the product pages or the checkout.
- Google Ads or Meta report a return the bank account doesn't recognise.
- You've just redesigned or migrated and traffic or sales dipped. See Shopify migration.
- You're about to scale ads before Ramadan, Eid, White Friday or the Dubai Shopping Festival, and want the store ready first.
- The app list has grown and the store has slowed down with it.
What the Shopify store audit covers
| Area | What we check | What often goes wrong in UAE stores |
|---|---|---|
| Conversion | Home, collection, product and cart pages on a phone; delivery promise; trust signals; WhatsApp and contact options | No delivery time or COD/BNPL message before checkout; prices shown without clarity on VAT |
| Speed | Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) from field data, theme code, images, app scripts | Slow mobile LCP from hero sliders and leftover app code |
| SEO | Indexing, titles, duplicate URLs, structured data, Markets and hreflang, Arabic URLs | Arabic pages not indexed or pointing at the English canonical |
| Tracking | GA4, Google Ads and Meta purchase events against Shopify's orders | Duplicate purchases; COD orders counted as revenue before cash is collected |
| Payments and checkout | Apple Pay, Tabby, Tamara, COD rules, gateway fallback, checkout language | Apple Pay missing on iPhone; COD offered everywhere; BNPL only visible at checkout |
| Arabic and RTL | Translations, right-to-left layout, mixed-direction text, search in Arabic | Half-translated menus; icons and arrows pointing the wrong way |
| Apps | Overlaps, unused subscriptions, scripts left after uninstall | Two apps doing one job, both loading on every page |
Tracking: why COD orders inflate your ROAS
Shopify creates an order when the customer completes checkout, and its checkout_completed event fires once per checkout, typically on the Thank you page (Shopify web pixels docs). For a cash-on-delivery order that is before any money changes hands, so GA4, Google Ads and Meta can all record a purchase that is later refused at the door. Bidding then optimises toward buyers who don't pay.
The fix depends on your volume: separate conversion actions for prepaid and COD, or feeding refused orders back. Google Ads supports conversion adjustments, which can retract a conversion or restate its value after the fact (Google Ads Help). Last checked: October 2026. Related: Google Ads for Shopify stores.
Speed: measured the way Google measures it
We judge speed on field data, not one lab score. Google's Core Web Vitals call a page good at an LCP of 2.5 seconds or less, an INP of 200 milliseconds or less and a CLS of 0.1 or less, measured at the 75th percentile of page loads, separately for mobile and desktop (web.dev). Shopify's own web performance dashboard tracks loading speed, interactivity and visual stability for your store (Shopify Help). Last checked: October 2026.
Conversion optimisation for Shopify: where we start
Before anyone redesigns anything, we follow the money: which traffic sources reach the product page, which reach checkout, and where they drop. A store that loses people on the product page needs different work from one that loses them at payment. For UAE buyers the checkout questions are specific: is Apple Pay there, are Tabby and Tamara shown on the product page, and is COD limited to areas and order values where it makes sense. Our UAE payment gateway guide covers the options.
What you receive
- Prioritised findings. Each issue rated by likely impact and effort, with the evidence: screenshots, URLs, event data.
- A screen-recorded walkthrough. We go through the store and the findings on video, so your team can watch it twice and share it.
- A fix plan. What to do first, what can wait, and what to stop doing. Your developer can follow it, or we can implement it.
How we work
- Short call. What's wrong, what you've tried and what the store sells. It costs nothing.
- Scope and quote. Every project is scoped and quoted individually. For an audit the scope depends on store size (products and templates), markets (UAE only or GCC), languages (English, Arabic or both) and the ad channels involved.
- Access. Collaborator access to Shopify and read access to analytics and ad accounts. We change nothing on the live store during the audit.
- Audit and walkthrough. Findings, video and fix plan delivered together.
- Fixes and re-check. Optional. We implement the plan, or check your team's work, and re-measure. Ongoing help sits under Shopify maintenance and support.
Is this right for you?
It suits live stores with real traffic and someone ready to act on the findings, whether that's your team or ours. If you haven't launched, you need a build review rather than an audit; start with Shopify development in Dubai. If the problem is mainly rankings, our Shopify SEO services go deeper than an audit can. If the trouble is between Shopify and your back office, see Shopify ERP integration.
What we need from you: a Shopify collaborator request approved, viewer access to GA4, Google Ads, Meta and Search Console, your list of payment methods and couriers, and a rough idea of margins so we rank fixes by what they're worth to you.
